National Banana transport figures for week 48 we are waiting on. Temperatures in the far north are similar to be last week with early A.M. temperatures falling within a range of 19.5 - 24.6C across all major growing regions; and day time temperatures still ranging 29.5 - 33.9C, indicates that summer is fast approaching!! North Qld banana growing regions experienced little to no rain fall this week: Mareeba receiving 9.8mm for the week and Walkamin with 25.2mm; with the coastal regions also experienced minimal rain - Innisfail receiving a total of a 13.8mm and South Johnston receiving 13mm throughout the week.
Banana bloom varied across displays, noted a little sap staining and light skin marking present in a few displays.
Retail ticket pricing in Queensland for cavendish bananas found as follows: Aldi’s banana ticket price at $3.49/kg; Woolies offered fruit at a ticket price of $4.00/kg; and Coles were offering fruit at $3.50-4.00/kg.

🥑SUPPLY UPDATE
In a nutshell the national production figures for last week were as follows:
· Week 48, 2025 - The industry experienced an overall 10.67% decrease in production on the previous week’s harvest with this weeks total of 517,480 tray equivalents harvested and transported (approx 62,000 less tray equivalents) on Week 47, 2025 production.
Production across the country saw WA/NT growing the lead - accounting for 88.31% of the national production, followed by NZ accounting for 6.69% ; Central NSW for 2.90% and Tristate 2.10% of the total production for the week.
· It is forecast that a total of some 593,000 tray equivalents will be dispatched this week (Week 49) nationally, with the majority of these of course being Hass! Production for the next three week period thereafter, is expected to fall within the range of 394K-613K tray equivalents per week.
In terms of Avocado retailing in the major supermarkets in Qld this week, we saw pricing at - Aldi’s Hass at $1.39 each; Coles Qld stores visited had Hass avos at 2 for $3.50; and Woolworths were retailing Hass at $1.80ea.
