BANANA OVERVIEW
🍌SUPPLY UPDATE
National Banana transport figures for Week 37 had production much the same as the week previous with approximately 1,000 more cartons, a total harvest of just over 493,811 for the week. Temperatures in the far north varied greatly for the early A.M. falling within a range of 13.1 - 20.1C across all major growing regions; and day time temperatures were definitely warming up ranging 22.5 - 28.4C. North Qld banana growing regions experienced another relatively dry week on the Tablelands with falls as follows: Mareeba receiving 0.4mm for the week to date; Walkamin with 4.4mm; and the coastal regions only saw a somewhat better fall with Innisfail receiving a total of 10.2mm and South Johnston totaling 12.4mm across the week.
Banana displays are continuing to exhibit a mixed fruit bloom and a continued presence of light skin marking, bat/bird marking, thrip damage, sap staining as well as light neck creasing viewed in some displays etc .
Queensland major retailers had bananas priced as follows: Aldi’s banana ticket price at $4.49/kg; Woolies offered fruit at a ticket price of $4.00/kg; and Coles were offering fruit at $4.00-$4.90/kg based on location of store visited.

AVOCADO OVERVIEW
🥑SUPPLY UPDATE
In a nutshell the national production figures for last week were as follows:
Week 37, 2025 - Avocado production for this week reached 474,175 tray equivalents, which is up on the previous week. The quantity of bulks/processing/other volume has remained steady at just over 79,000 tray equivalents which leaves 394,000 trays (mix of premium and class one) for supermarket and market sales - so whilst somewhat of an improvement in volume compared to last week, this is as a direct result of WA increasing their harvest percentage to 24%; and Central NSW and Tristates regions progessing their seasons.
Production across the country saw WA/NT’s level of production take the lead in harvest volumes with 24.47% of total production; Central NSW taking second spot this week with 20.96%; then NZ for 19.13%; then Tristate accounting for 17.05% of the national production followed next by Southern QLD accounting for 9.65%; Northern QLD for 5.37%; TNR for 2.75%; and Sunshine Coast accounting for 0.61% of the total production for the week.
It is forecast that a total of some 494,604 tray equivalents will be dispatched this week (Week 38) nationally, with the majority of these being Hass! Total avocado production for the next three week period thereafter, is expected to fall within a somewhat lower range of 445K-462K tray equivalents per week.
In terms of Avocado retailing in the major supermarkets in Qld this week, we saw pricing as follows - Aldi with Hass retailing at $2.29ea this week; Coles Qld stores visited had Hass avos at $2.50ea; and Woolworths were retailing Hass at $2.50ea.
