National Banana transport figures for Week 38 were up by almost 20,000 cartons on the week prior to a total of 511,705 cartons for the week. Temperatures in the far north varied greatly for the early A.M. falling within a range of 10.0 - 19.4C across all major growing regions; and day time temperatures were moderate this week ranging 23.2 - 28.4C. North Qld banana growing regions experienced another relatively dry week on the Tablelands with falls as follows: Mareeba receiving 0mm for the week to date; Walkamin with 0.8mm; and the coastal regions only saw a somewhat better fall with Innisfail receiving a total of 18.8mm and South Johnston totaling 26.2mm across the week.
Banana displays are continuing to exhibit mixed bloom, it is important to note however that brightness is on the improve; though there is a continued presence of light skin marking, bat/bird marking, thrip damage, sap staining as well as light neck creasing viewed in some displays etc .
Queensland major retailers had bananas priced as follows: Aldi’s banana ticket price at $4.49/kg; Woolies offered fruit at a ticket price of $4.50/kg; and Coles were offering fruit at $4.50/kg.

🥑SUPPLY UPDATE
In a nutshell the national production figures for last week were as follows:
Week 38, 2025 - Avocado production for this week reached 493,075 tray equivalents, which is up on the previous week by approx 20,000 trays. The quantity of bulks/processing/other volume has remained steady at just over 76,000 tray equivalents which leaves 419,000 trays (mix of premium and class one) for supermarket and market sales.
Production across the country saw NZ’s level of production take the lead in harvest volumes with 24.70% of total production; WA/NT dropped to second spot this week with 22.19%; then Central NSW for 20.71%; then Tristate accounting for 18.67% of the national production followed next by Southern QLD accounting for 7.33%; Northern QLD for 3.53%; TNR for 2.37%; and Sunshine Coast accounting for 0.50% of the total production for the week.
It is forecast that a total of some 450,667 tray equivalents will be dispatched this week (Week 39) nationally, with the majority of these being Hass! Total avocado production for the next three week period thereafter, is expected to fall within a somewhat lower range of 413K-444K tray equivalents per week.
In terms of Avocado retailing in the major supermarkets in Qld this week, we saw pricing as follows - Aldi with Hass retailing at $2.29ea this week; Coles Qld stores visited had Hass avos at $2.50ea; and Woolworths were retailing Hass at $2.50ea.
