🍌SUPPLY UPDATE
National Banana transport figures for week 23 were approximately 461,000 cartons which saw a slight decrease of 2000 cartons on Week 22. Temperatures in the far north have seen early A.M. temperatures fall within a range of 14 - 20.1C across all major growing regions; and day time temperatures still ranging 24.6 - 29.6C. Rainfall in North Qld banana growing regions this week again experienced only light falls as follows: Mareeba receiving 0mm for the week; Innisfail receiving a total of a 0mm and South Johnston receiving only 2.6mm throughout the week.
Banana Quality was better than last week, minimal skin marking; light rub and some dull fruit but on the whole a good show.
Retail ticket pricing in Queensland for cavendish bananas were relatively stable as follows: Aldi’s banana ticket price at $4.49/kg; Woolies offered fruit at a ticket price of $4.50/kg; and Coles were offering fruit at $4.50/kg in the stores visited.

In a nutshell the national production figures for last week were as follows:
· Week 23, 2025 - The industry experienced an overall 15.96% decrease in production on the previous week’s harvest with this weeks total of 438,779 tray equivalents harvested and transported (approx 83,000 less tray equivalents) on Week 22, 2025 production.
Production across the country saw NQ still confidently leading in production - accounting for 58.85% of the total volume, followed by Central Queensland accounting for 38.43%, then Southern Queensland for just 1.59%, then Central NSW for just 0.75%; Tamborine 0.23% and finally Sunshine Coast for 0.14% of the total production for the week.
· It is forecast that a total of some 425,767 tray equivalents will be dispatched this week (Week 24) nationally, with the majority of these being Hass!! Production for the next three week period thereafter, is expected to fall within the range of 346K-430K tray equivalents per week.
In terms of Avocado retailing in the major supermarkets in Qld this week we saw fundamentally a uniform offering in terms of pricing this week as follows - Aldi’s Hass at $1.49each (Aldi Super Savers); Coles Qld stores visited had Hass avos priced at $1.50ea, and Woolworths Qld with GMAX at $2.90ea and Hass at $1.50ea.
